Sandy is committed to ensuring that Lake County remains an attractive destination for families and businesses. That starts with keeping our taxes low while maintaining high-quality and efficient County services.

Under Sandy’s leadership, the County’s property tax levy has remained flat. This has been accomplished by the Lake County Board’s thoughtful work in implementing efficient and cost-effective government services, consolidating or eliminating unnecessary or wasteful taxing bodies, and committing to fiscally responsible and pragmatic financial policies. This means that:

  • Lake County Government and Lake County Forest Preserves remain AAA bond rated, which translates into low interest rates, saving taxpayer money.

  • Lake County Forest Preserves refinanced bonds and saved taxpayers over 11 million dollars.

  • Lake County’s government services have been expanded and improved while the property tax levy has remained flat.
